Come meet us at the Ladywell Christmas Market

The FOBLC invites you to come and visit our stall at the Ladywell Christmas Market. The Ladywell market is taking place on Saturday 15th December from 11am to 5pm and is taking its inspiration from the BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing'. Click here for more infomation.

Forthcoming meetings & events

General meetings are held in January and June (AGM). Meetings are held in the Chapel in the Ladywell Cemetery. Volunteer workdays, under the guidance of the Council Bereavement Services staff, generally take place on Sundays in alternate months NEXT MEETINGS The next open committee meeting will be on Saturday 21st September at 2pm in the Chapel. Work session Sunday 22nd September 10am – 12.15pm Please meet at the Brockley gate. Please bring your own gloves, secateurs and loppers if you have them and let Geoffrey know if you are attending (geoffrey@foblc.org.uk) The burial records of the Cemeteries in Lewisham, including Brockley and Ladywell, have been scanned and digitised under an arrangement between the London Borough of Lewisham and Deceased Online. Initial basic searches are free of charge. Log on to www.deceasedonline.com for more details.

Heritage Lottery Fund Projects

FoBLC acknowledges the financial support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Ladywell Ward Localities Fund in making possible the project to record the history of a few of the civilian victims of bombings during the First World War, who are memorialised in the Brockley and Ladywell Cemeteries

Here are some projects that have been realised thanks to that support:

1/ A Commemoration of Civilian Deaths in the Deptford area in the First World War, an explanatory booklet is available from the Friends group. Click here to see the display panels
